Luke 13

Jesus says that we must change our minds (follow him and not ourselves) if we really want to have the good life – a life filled with God. He backs this up with a story about how an orchard owner expects fruit. If no fruit, he will go into the FIREWOOD BUSINESS! A follower without good fruit does not exist.

Jesus again heals (does work) on the Sabbath. It makes religious rule-tenders angry. They would rather a person stay sick for another day before being healed.

Jesus teaches that God's Kingdom is not a place but an experience that only followers see, feel and experience. It's HUGE but invisible to a hard-hearted (or hard-headed) religious person. Jesus wants followers and not to enslave people into a religion where people figure if they know enough (including how to manipulate the rules,) they have it made.

Jesus admits that following him is the "narrow door." It takes effort and requires sacrifice.
