Hebrews 1
Hebrews is more a sermon than a letter. No one knows who wrote it. Some Bibles say Paul did but most scholars think not. Hebrews writes about Jesus as if the author never saw Jesus, which Paul did. The sermon is written to Jewish people who became followers of the way. The encouragement is to not turn back to Judaism but maintain the faith in the superior Jesus Christ. A good knowledge of the Old Testament is evident. You will find the Psalms quoted often. The audience has a working knowledge of the OT as well. There is not greeting as you have in a letter (epistle.) The author gets right into it.
Jesus is proclaimed superior and creator of the universe. He is God's Son.
