Mark 1

Good for you! You started your Bible Reading Plan. That was the hard part.

Chapter 1 of Mark gets Jesus started in ministry. Mark has Jesus as a very action oriented (the use of the word "immediately") person. There are no birth stories. This first chapter tells us that Jesus is the Son of God (we won't hear that again for a while) and we see Jesus in action healing people after he is baptized and told by God that he is his well-beloved Son and after Jesus spends some time in the wilderness preparing for ministry by being testing.
